Concrete Slab Scanned for Conduit Lines at LAX Airport - Los Angeles, California

Ground Penetrating Radar Systems, Inc. - GPRS - of Southern California was contacted by an electrical company to scan for existing conduits within a concrete slab at the American Airlines Admirals Club Lounge at Los Angeles International Airport. The client’s scope of work consisted of removing a 6” topping slab prior to placing new tile that matched the rest of the finished floor.

GPRS completed this work late at night as this was the only time the area was available for scanning, and during the scan we were able to locate over 15 conduits.

The image below shows a portion of 100’x100’ area that was scanned.

GPR scanning is a great tool to use for scanning for post tension cables, rebar, and conduits; it can also be used to scan for underground utilities prior to digging or excavating. GPRS has offices throughout the entire state of California and we have completed projects in cities such as: Ventura, Santa Barbara, Thousand Oaks, San Luis Obispo, Bakersfield, Lancaster and the greater Los Angeles area.
