GPRS’s Fort Lauderdale office completed scanning for conduits in a metal deck. The contractor was drilling 4” cores at 3 different locations. GPRS was able to mobilize and scan each location. The high and low point of the decking was located and marked on the surface as well as the wire mesh in the concrete poured on top of the metal deck. A utility wand was used to check for any live electrical conduits which may be inside the slab.
Ground penetrating radar is a quick and reliable solution to learning what is inside a concrete or pan deck slab. The findings are marked directly on the surface in real time which allows the contractor to begin drilling immediately after the scan.
