Conduits Located In a Concrete Slab - Richmond, VA

Ground Penetrating Radar Systems was recently called by a local contractor to a project at the campus of Virginia Commonwealth University. Scope of work was to scan an elevated slab to identify steel reinforcement, and conduits running through the concrete in preparation for core drilling. The project was completed in preparation to core drill so that the contractor could safely penetrate the concrete. GPRS, Inc. was able to use its state-of-the-art imaging equipment to scan and locate any conduits and steel reinforcements that were in the slab. We were able to locate several conduits that were in the area of core drilling and accurately marked a depth. GPR is an effective and accurate way of locating rebar, conduits, and post-tension cables in a concrete slab.

Concrete Scanning for and Conduits in a Slab on Grade - Richmond, VA

A saw cutting contractor in Richmond, VA called Ground Penetrating Radar Systems to locate the main power feed within the concrete slab of a grocery store that was being renovated. GPRS responded with same day service. GPRS was able to mark directly on the surface the depth and location of the live conduits in real-time. In addition, a drain was marked and verified. If the slab had been cut before being scanned, serious damage to life and limb could have been caused.
