GPRS Locates Rebar in a Masonry Wall - Westlake, Ohio

Recently, Ground Penetrating Radar Systems (GPRS) was requested on site by a general contractor to perform a Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) scan at a Holiday Inn in Westlake, Ohio. The purpose was to locate any vertical rebar as well as verify that there were grouted block cells. The engineer needed to determine if the new wall was built correctly. GPR determined that all cells were grouted, but not all cells had vertical rebar in them. GPRS can help you on your next project! The picture below shows the block wall scanned with vertical rebar displayed with black arrows.

Ground Penetrating Radar Systems is the best way to ensure the locations of reinforcement and conduits prior to saw cutting/drilling through concrete.
