Oxygen and Electrical Line Located in Louisville, KYPrivate Utility Locate at Hospital - Louisville, KY

A general contractor in Louisville was beginning an addition onto a hospital. Prior to installing the construction fence and building the addition, GPRS was called. By referring to drawings of the hospital, the contractor knew of an oxygen line and numerous electric lines in the area. While the contractor knew of these utilities, the exact locations were unknown.

Scanning began with the RD 7000 and 400 MHz antenna. Using the RD 7000 located the street lighting, and the conduits which ran from the back of the hospital to the lighting surrounding the helicopter pad. Then, GPR was used to locate the depths of the electric lines and the location and depth of the oxygen line. These findings were then marked on the surface and communicated to the site contact.

These utilities, mainly the oxygen line, were extremely important to locate to avoid delaying any hospital operations. The contractor was satisfied to know the location of the utilities prior to beginning the building addition.
