GPRS Locates Post Tension Cables - Washington DC

GPRS Locates Post Tension Cables - Washington DCA contractor investigating the structural components of a post tension building in Washington DC contacted Ground Penetrating Radar Systems of DC for concrete scanning. The contractor hoped to find valuable information about the reinforcing and post tension cables of the building before core drilling. GPRS scanning assists contractors by reducing the likelihood of subsurface obstruction strikes during drilling, cutting, trenching, anchoring and other sub-surface applications. Ground Penetrating Radar Systems using GSSI Sir-3000 technology, located the critical post tension cables in the slab which allowed contractors to avoid a possible cable snapping. This was all done in a safe, time efficient, non-destructive way. The radar emits radiation less than 1% of that found to be emitted by standard cell phones. This means practically no hazardous radiation to operators or persons above or below the work zone.
