GPRS Scans for Private Utility Lines at Middle School - Neenah, WI

GPRS, Inc. was contacted by a general contractor from Neenah, WI. to scan for utilities and any other obstructions prior to performing excavating at a middle school in Neenah, WI. GPRS scanned the area using ground penetrating radar and radio detection for a thorough survey of the subsurface. The GPR equipment was able to penetrate up to 5’ in depth during the scanning. GPRS located water, gas, 480V electric, site lighting, as well as fiber optic in question. GPRS was able to provide approximate depths of the utilities in this congested area! Based on these findings, the contractor was able to determine the extent of his work needed to be done. GPRS even mapped the utilities via Trimble GPS and provided a thorough report which included data shots, site photos, and other useful information. Because GPRS was able to locate the utilities and provide depths the contractor was able to plan a safe removal of soil during the project. The contractors contacted GPRS for this project after GPRS provided a lunch and learn presentation for over 50 of their field staff. GPRS did NOT disappoint.

Ground penetrating radar is a great tool to scan areas of post tension cables, rebar, and conduits, including PVC pipes and can also be used to locate underground utilities prior to digging or excavating. Please contact Ground Penetrating Radar Systems – GPRS to learn how we can assist with your project.
