Concrete Scanning to Locate Rebar in Lewistown, Pennsylvania

A general contractor needed to core drill 25 holes. The engineers enforced the importance of avoiding any rebar when penetrating the concrete slab due to the structural integrity of the building. The general contractor called Ground Penetrating Radar Systems (GPRS), who he has worked with multiple times before hand to help with their project. Sam Hart (717-798-5721), who works out of the Harrisburg office and covers the Mid-State Region, was able to scan the concrete. Sam marked out the rebar and any other conduits/pipes prior to core drilling with permanent black marker. He also determined the slab was approximately 7-8 inches thick, depending on the location. He also determined there were 2 layers of reinforcing steel, approximately 8-9 inches apart. Sam cover’s the Central PA area including York, Reading, Altoona and State College.
