Ground Penetrating Radar Systems was recently contacted to locate and map all utilities at Carolina Hospital System’s Florence, SC campus prior to directional boring.
The equipment used in the scan was a 400MHz antenna capable of identifying objects at a depths of up to 6-7’, RD7000, and a SIR-3000 computer system.
While on site, GPRS technician James Ross, scanned 4 locations totaling approximately 2 acres to identify any anomalies that would indicate electrical conduits, water mains, gas lines, and any other pertinent utilities moving through the anticipate path. After further investigation at the suspected site we were able to determine that there were utilities running through the proposed path. Not only could we identify these obstructions, but we also provided accurate depths of each obstruction.
