Underground Utility Scanning with GPR at AZ - Mexico Border

GPRS Private Utility Scan for Underground Utilities at Arizona/Mexico Border

Ground Penetrating Radar Systems, Inc. - GPRS - of Arizona was contacted to complete an assessment of underground utilities near the Arizona/Mexico Border. The client needed to excavate a trench over a distance of 130 feet. Several factors came into play with this unique site. Not only was it remotely located, but was a high security area. Time was a critical factor to have the sensitive task of utilty locating completed. But security was also a high concern for the Department of Homeland Security and Immigration Services. GPRS is very familiar with government, high security, and time sensitive projects where coordination is a must in order to work smoothly and quickly between multiple departments. With GPRS’ proven track record of trust and efficiently, this proved to be yet another job where utilities were located and the job was completed successfully. GPRS was able to locate utilities intersecting the path of their trench allowing for safe access for their trench to ensure smooth construction without delays.

Ground penetrating radar is a great tool for locating underground utilities such as water, gas, electrical, communication, sewer, and other objects prior to digging or excavating. Ground penetrating Radar can also be used to scan areas of post tension cables, rebar, and conduits, including PVC pipes.

Working with GPRS also offers each client a “one-stop shop” solution for not only their locating needs but also for concrete drilling and cutting. These services most often go hand in hand and are often needed quickly with little or zero notice. GPRS can help to streamline each job’s demanding needs by assisting with ground penetrating radar services as well as concrete cutting and drilling solutions.
