Utility Scan with GPR and Radiodetection - Cheyenne, WYPerforming a Utility Search Utilizing GPR and Radiodetection
- Cheyenne, WY

Prior to digging a large trench at a UPPR rail-yard in Cheyenne, WY, an environmental company contacted GPRS Project Manager, Troy Bullock to scan for utility lines. For this project, a combination of both Radiodetection, and GPR technologies were used. Radiodetection is great for determining the location of lines that visibly emerge from the ground, and for this project, we were able to use Radiodetection to locate several live power and communications lines. After scanning the area with Radiodetection, we then used Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) to locate any potential unidentified objects that were beneath the project surface.

It is always a good habit to contact GPRS prior to getting started with a project. GPRS helps to create a safe working environment on all construction sites. Void Locating with Ground Radar - Cheyenne, WY

void locating WY

GPRS of Denver was hired by a church in Cheyenne, Wyoming to scan a large parking to determine the location of several voids. As you can see in the image above, a section of the parking lot was experiencing a significant amount of cracking and settling, and the church wanted to address this issue.

The church wanted to get a good idea of what was going on beneath the surface prior to moving forward with repairing the parking lots, and by hiring GPRS, the church saved time and money by having the area scanned before they started their project. Traveling in a grid pattern over the area to determine what was going on with the parking lot, GPRS used a 4000 MHz antenna to scan the area and as you can see in the image above, several voids were located, and the results of the scan were marked onto the project surface with white spray paint.

It is always in good habit to contact GPRS to scan your job site before you get started with a project. In addition to locating voids, we use top of the line ground penetrating radar equipment to scan job-sites for utility lines, and scan concrete for items such as conduits and rebar.
