Task

GPRS provided Turner Construction the concrete reinforcement infrastructure data it needed to remove concrete as part of a large tenant improvement project, requiring extensive concrete infrastructure changes at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts.

PROBLEM

  • Due to the building’s age and the amount of concrete removal required from walls and floors, it was critical to avoid striking existing reinforcements within the concrete in areas that were not being removed
  • During construction, damage to the existing infrastructure within concrete slabs, walls, and under slabs was a significant safety concern for the owner and the Turner team
  • The project required tight deadlines and extensive project coordination

Solution

  • There were ZERO strikes of existing concrete reinforcements during the project, keeping the structure and the crews safe, and the project on time and on budget
  • GPRS Project Managers train in a world-class facility with thousands of square feet of concrete slab as part of their SIM certification, which gives them the experience required to scan the most complex subsurface infrastructures and is the backbone of our 99.8%+ accuracy rate
  • The repeatable methodologies of SIM make our Project Managers more efficient and allow them to scan dozens of locations in a day

Benefits

  • On Time: Due to our rapid response, we kept the project moving, reducing downtime
  • On Budget: There was no concrete damage allowing the project to stay on budget
  • Safety: Protecting post tension cables and structural steel from damage helped keep all workers safe
  • Reputation: No strikes or delays meant that the client’s valuable reputation was protected
