- A neighborhood in California was experiencing water surfacing between its asphalt road and sidewalks
- The issue was discovered early in the morning, and water was shut down to 8 houses during the ensuing investigation
- The surfacing water spanned an area of approximately 300 Linear Feet
Solution
- A GPRS Project Manager responded quickly to the neighborhood and deployed a ground microphone to listen for the leak and pinpoint its source
- The Project Manager collaborated with the repair crew, which was able to excavate only the area where the leak had been pinpointed
- Once the asphalt had been removed, it was discovered that a service line had been slowly leaking until it finally broke off from the water main
- The issue was repaired quickly and with minimal excavation
