Task

PROBLEM

The University of Toledo (UT) faced issues with outdated, inaccurate, and incomplete as-built documents for their critical buried utilities. This led to utility strikes during excavation projects, posing risks and potential costs.

Solution

GPRS addressed this problem by providing accurate, field-verified data through their advanced infrastructure mapping technology. They updated the map of all underground infrastructure and uploaded it into SiteMap® Pro, granting UT personnel 24/7 secure access to the most current and accurate information.

Benefits

The university has secure, 24/7 access to an accurate, field-verified map of all buried utilities on campus. As seen in the images below, the map revealed numerous areas where UT’s existing as-built utility locations information was inaccurate. Through a SiteMap® Pro subscription, university personnel can share this data with whoever they need to ensure safe excavation projects. And this map can be updated as utilities are added or removed.
